Foreign investors seeking a direct route to a U.S. Green Card via the EB-5 immigrant investor program are offered the unique opportunity to invest as little as US$500,000* in a first-rate American Charter School project. The investment will take the form of a loan made to an experienced developer, Academica. Well-established in the region and headquartered in Miami, Florida, Academica has extensive experience in developing and operating charter schools and currently serves over 100 schools in Florida, Georgia, Texas, California, Utah and Nevada.
In the form of a subsidy per student, The National Ben Gamla Charter School Foundation, Inc will receive from the local government and the state of Florida a source of steady income to cover for the school operating costs. As they do for all schools across the state, the state and the local government will remain responsible of overseeing the school’s financial and academic performance.
Description of the school and location
The school will be located at 2650 Van Buren Street, Hollywood Florida. This location is in Broward County, which is situated in the south eastern coast of Florida. According to the 2012 census, the county has a population of over 1.8 million residents, making it the second most populous in Florida. The school will occupy a surface of 33,509 Sq. ft. and will have the capacity to welcome 600 additional students (Grade 7 – Grade 12). Benefiting from strong local support, the existing facility has reached its maximum capacity, thus the necessity of its expansion. The new buildings will have 10 classrooms and an administrative office.
