The Quebec Immigrant Investor Program discussed at the National Assembly

September 28th 2020 – Debates were held during a Committee on Citizen Relations at the National Assembly during which the opposition member of parliament Mr Gaétan Barette questioned the Minister of Immigration, Francization and Integration Mrs. Nadine Girault and her deputy minister Mr. Benoît Dagenais about the future of the Quebec Immigrant Investor Program (QIIP). Mr. Dagenais confirmed that they have the necessary budget for a reopening on April 1st 2021, giving hope that the program would indeed reopen. However, neither Mrs. Girault nor Mr. Dagenais officially confirmed such reopening nor the new program conditions. Mr. Dagenais merely mentioned that the Ministry is aiming at protecting the program integrity and is looking at ways to increase the retention of investors in Quebec.
